Steve Wade

Profile

Steve Wade is an M.Litt graduate of Trinity College, Dublin. Recently returned to Ireland after a number of years living abroad on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, he divides his time between writing and teaching.

A prolific writer of short fiction, many of his short stories have been published online and in print, in national and international magazines and anthologies such as First Edition, Leaf Books, Crannog, College Green, Pearl Magazine and New Fables.

Other short stories have won prizes and been shortlisted in writing competitions, including second prize in the Biscuit International Short Story Competition 2008, a nomination for New Irish Writer in the Hennessy Literary Awards 2008, and first prize in Christmas Chillers, 2009.

The first three chapters of his novel ‘On Hikers’ Hill’ have been published by Leaf Garden Press.

Besides writing literary fiction for adults, Steve enjoys writing stories for children. His children’s stories range in genre from traditional fairy tales to anthropomorphism. A lifetime interest in all things wild and natural feeds into his anthropomorphic stories. Currently, he is working with an agent representing authors of children’s fiction.

Steve shares his life and his home with his girlfriend Tanya, who is also a writer: see Tanya Farrelly on the Limnisa writers’ page.
